J&J Proposes $6.5 Billion Over 25 Years to Settle Ovarian Cancer Claims
May 1, 2024, 01:02 PM
Johnson & Johnson, through its subsidiary LLT Management LLC, has proposed a $6.5 billion settlement to resolve nearly all lawsuits in the U.S. claiming its talc-based products caused ovarian cancer. The settlement, intended to be managed through a prepackaged reorganization over 25 years, requires approval from a supermajority of claimants. Additionally, there are more pending lawsuits alleging that J&J products caused mesothelioma.
