IDF Neutralizes 10-20 Meter and 3.5 km Hezbollah Tunnels Crossing from Lebanon
Oct 8, 2024, 04:03 PM
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the discovery and neutralization of multiple Hezbollah tunnels crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. One significant tunnel, found a few months ago, stretched about 10-20 meters past the UN-recognized Blue Line but did not have an exit point in Israeli territory. The IDF's Commando Brigade and elite Yahalom Unit demolished several tunnel shafts used by Hezbollah operatives to approach the Israeli border. Additionally, the IDF released footage showing special forces raiding and sealing a Hezbollah tunnel in southern Lebanon. Another tunnel, 3.5 km long, allegedly used by Hezbollah's Unit 4400 to smuggle Iranian weapons, was targeted by IDF fighter jets. These operations have uncovered weapons, explosive devices, and anti-tank missiles within the tunnels. The IDF's Northern Command continues its targeted ground operations to dismantle such threats.
