South Korea's Joint Investigation Team has requested an arrest warrant for impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol over his declaration of martial law on December 3. The request, filed on December 30 with the Seoul Western District Court, comes after Yoon repeatedly declined to appear for questioning. Authorities are probing whether his short-lived imposition of martial law amounts to rebellion and abuse of power. This marks the first attempt to forcibly detain a suspended president in South Korea.
