Abdul Rahman Makki, a senior commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and a key figure in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, has died in Lahore, Pakistan, after suffering a heart attack. He was reported to have been battling a prolonged illness prior to his death. Makki was known for his role in raising funds for the UN-designated terrorist group and was sanctioned by the U.S., carrying a bounty of up to $2 million. He was the brother-in-law of Hafiz Saeed, the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba, and held the position of deputy chief in the group.
