Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander Abdul Rahman Makki, 26/11 Terror Attacks Accused with $2 Million Bounty, Dies After Heart Attack in Pakistan
Dec 27, 2024, 08:37 AM
Abdul Rahman Makki, a senior commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and a key figure in fundraising for the UN-designated terrorist group, has died in Pakistan following a heart attack. Reports indicate that he was also implicated in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and was previously sanctioned by the U.S., with a bounty of up to $2 million on his head. Makki was the brother-in-law of LeT leader Hafiz Saeed and had been sentenced in 2020 for his involvement in terrorism-related activities. His death marks a significant moment in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism linked to the LeT.
