Worldcoin, the cryptocurrency project led by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has announced the launch of its own blockchain network, World Chain. This new network, which is designed to prioritize human users, will be a Layer 2 solution built on Ethereum and integrated into the Optimism ecosystem. World Chain, which is EVM-based, aims to enhance scalability and user experience, emphasizing a human-centric approach by giving priority to verified humans over bots and alleviating congestion. It will also contribute to the revenue of the Optimism Collective and is expected to bring over 10 million users to the Superchain ecosystem. The launch is scheduled for later this summer and will be open source and permissionless.
