The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened a preliminary evaluation into 781,459 Chrysler vehicles in the U.S. due to reports of underhood fires while the vehicles are in the ignition-off state. Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, is cooperating with U.S. authorities in the investigation.
