Qantas Pays $120M to Settle ACCC Case on Post-COVID Canceled Flights

Qantas Airways has agreed to pay a $100 million fine and an additional $20 million in compensation to passengers to settle a lawsuit with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). The lawsuit, arising in the post-COVID era, was centered on the airline's practice of selling tickets for flights that had already been canceled. The total settlement amount includes a $66 million penalty to address claims of misleading customers and failing to notify them in a timely manner about cancellations.
