Hoda Kotb to Leave NBC's 'Today' Show After 26 Years Early Next Year
Sep 26, 2024, 01:16 PM
Hoda Kotb, a longtime anchor and co-host of NBC's 'Today' show, has announced her departure from the program early next year. Kotb, who has been with NBC for 26 years and served as co-anchor for more than five years, cited a desire to spend more time with her two young daughters as a primary reason for her decision. She shared her announcement on air and in a letter to staff, expressing that it was time for her to 'turn the page' at the age of 60. Kotb's exit will leave two critical anchor slots vacant in NBC's morning franchise. Despite her departure, she will remain an occasional contributor to NBC. Kotb has been part of the 'Today' show for 17 years, and her colleagues Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager expressed their support and pride for her decision.
