Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has approved the sale and divestment of its water purification business, Pureit, to A.O. Smith India. The transaction is valued at $72 million, or approximately Rs 600 crore. This strategic move aligns with HUL's aim to streamline its portfolio and focus on core business areas. The enterprise value of the deal is reported to be Rs 601 crore. Moneycontrol was the first to report on HUL's decision to sell Pureit on March 28.
