DC Appeals Court Revives Antitrust Lawsuit Against Amazon
Aug 22, 2024, 05:45 PM
A Washington, D.C. appellate court has revived the District's antitrust lawsuit against Amazon. The lawsuit, initially dismissed by Judge Hiram Puig-Lugo, claims that Amazon's pricing policies illegally set a price floor, stifling competition and driving up prices. The decision to overturn the dismissal allows the case, led by the D.C. Attorney General, to proceed to trial. The lawsuit alleges that Amazon's practices harm consumers, hinder innovation, and negatively impact small businesses.
