Amazon Wins Partial Dismissal in FTC Antitrust Lawsuit in Seattle
Oct 1, 2024, 10:04 AM
Amazon has secured a partial dismissal in the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) antitrust lawsuit against the company. A federal judge in Seattle, John Chun, ruled in favor of Amazon, dismissing some of the claims in the case. The details of the ruling remain sealed and are expected to be revealed by mid-October. Despite this partial victory, other claims in the lawsuit will proceed to trial. The FTC had accused Amazon of maintaining illegal monopolies and using anti-competitive tactics to dominate the market. Amazon had argued that the FTC failed to provide evidence of harm to consumers.
