Incessant rainfall in Nepal has triggered severe floods and landslides, resulting in a significant death toll. As of the latest reports, 193 people have been confirmed dead, with dozens still missing. The heavy downpours, which began on Thursday and intensified since Saturday, have caused widespread destruction across the country, particularly affecting the Kathmandu Valley. Rescue operations are ongoing, with over 4,500 people rescued so far. The government has closed schools for three days in response to the disaster. The relentless rains have also disrupted transport, with both domestic and international flights being affected. The Home Ministry has been actively involved in coordinating the rescue efforts.
