Mercedes-Benz Opens Europe's First Battery Recycling Plant in Kuppenheim, Recovers 96% of Materials

Mercedes-Benz has opened its own recycling factory, Europe's first battery recycling plant using an integrated mechanical-hydrometallurgical process in Kuppenheim, southern Germany. This facility can recycle enough material to produce 50,000 new battery modules per year and recover 96% of battery materials, aiming to close the battery loop.
