Uber and BYD Sign Multi-Year Deal to Add 100,000 EVs in Europe and Latin America
Jul 31, 2024, 11:05 AM
Uber Technologies and Chinese automaker BYD have announced a multi-year strategic partnership aimed at bringing 100,000 new BYD electric vehicles (EVs) to Uber's ride-hailing platform globally. The initiative will start in Europe and Latin America, with plans to expand to other regions, excluding the U.S. The partnership includes various incentives for drivers, such as lower vehicle pricing, financing options, lease terms, charging discounts, insurance assistance, and driver financing incentives. Additionally, the collaboration will focus on the development of autonomous-capable vehicles, leveraging BYD's expertise in EV production and Uber's extensive global network.
