OpenAI Launches GPT-4o: Faster, Cheaper AI Model, Free for All, Available Now

OpenAI has announced the launch of its new AI model, GPT-4o, during its Spring Update event. The model, described as faster, cheaper, and more efficient, is designed to be natively multimodal, capable of processing text, audio, and visual inputs in real time. GPT-4o is reported to be twice as fast and 50% cheaper than its predecessor, GPT-4 Turbo, and offers five times higher rate limits. It will be available for free to all users, including those using the API and the new desktop version of ChatGPT. The model also includes enhanced functionalities such as real-time language translation and the ability to handle voice and video inputs, with these features rolling out in the coming weeks. GPT-4o is available now and includes vision, text, and vision capabilities in real time.
