Trump Surpasses 74 Million Votes; Harris's Total Drops by 12 Million from Biden's 2020 Record
Nov 9, 2024, 03:40 AM
Donald Trump has surpassed his 2020 vote total in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, accumulating over 74.2 million votes as ballots continue to be counted. With millions of ballots still uncounted, projections suggest he may reach close to 80 million votes. This marks an increase in support in 49 out of 50 states compared to the previous election. In contrast, Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, has received approximately 69 million votes, significantly fewer than the 81 million votes Joe Biden received in 2020. The decline of around 12 million Democratic votes has prompted questions about the whereabouts of these voters. Vote counting is expected to continue for weeks, particularly in blue states where Harris's declines are most pronounced.
