China's ByteDance is collaborating with U.S. chip designer Broadcom to develop an advanced AI processor. The 5nm ASIC chip, which will comply with U.S. export restrictions, is set to be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC). The project is expected to enhance the technological capabilities of ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, sources say.
