Nov 14, 2024, 04:30 PM
Ford Motor Co. has agreed to pay a civil penalty of up to $165 million to the U.S. government for delaying recalls and providing incomplete and inaccurate recall information concerning defective rearview cameras. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that the penalty is the second-largest in the agency's history. As part of the settlement, Ford is required to review all of its recalls over the past three years to ensure they were adequate and, if necessary, issue new recalls. The company must also meet quarterly with NHTSA officials.
