Nearly 14,000 Children Underwent Sex-Change Procedures in the US, New Database Reveals $120 Million Industry (2019-2023)
Oct 8, 2024, 03:30 PM
A new database released by the medical watchdog organization Do No Harm has revealed that nearly 14,000 children in the United States underwent sex-change procedures between 2019 and 2023. The industry has generated well over $100 million, with U.S. hospitals charging at least $120 million for these procedures. The data shows that at least 5,000 to 6,000 teenage girls had their breasts amputated for sex-change purposes during this period, including 50 to 179 girls aged 12.5 or younger. The figures do not account for self-pay patients, Veterans Affairs claims, or those covered by Kaiser Health Plans. This comprehensive database has highlighted the scale of gender-affirming care for minors, which has been a topic of significant debate and concern. The findings align with those from the Manhattan Institute and include data from 2,000 hospitals.
