China Unveils Two Tailless Stealth Aircraft Designs by Chengdu and Shenyang

China has unveiled two new stealth aircraft designs, both of which have undergone flight testing. The first, developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, is a large, tailless aircraft with a diamond-shaped planform and three engines. The second, from Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, is smaller and also tailless, featuring a highly swept wing and two engines. Both aircraft were spotted in daylight, with the Chengdu design accompanied by a J-20, and the Shenyang model flying alongside a Su-27 clone. Defense experts have noted the advanced nature of these designs, though there is not enough detail for definitive conclusions on their capabilities or intended roles.
