EU to Impose First Sanctions on Iran Over Missile Transfers to Russia on October 14
Oct 11, 2024, 02:18 PM
The European Union is set to impose its first sanctions against individuals and organizations involved in Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia. The sanctions are expected to be designated on Monday, October 14, according to a high-ranking EU official. Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi acknowledged that Iran had sent missiles to Russia but claimed they were not 'ballistic' missiles as their range was less than 250km. The official told Reuters there would be a first package of designations in the context of these sanctions.
