Jun 25, 2024, 12:14 PM
Finland will begin offering preemptive bird flu vaccinations to some workers with exposure to animals, making it the first country in the world to do so. The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) announced that the vaccinations will be available to those aged 18 or over who are at increased risk of contracting avian influenza due to their work or other circumstances. The initiative will start as soon as next week. The vaccines being used are largely untested CSL Seqirus H5N1 Bird Flu vaccinations, even with no reported human cases.
