Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Car Hits Pedestrians in London on Christmas Day

At 00:45 hrs on Christmas Day, a car driving on the wrong side of Shaftesbury Avenue in central London's West End mounted the pavement, injuring four pedestrians, one of whom is in a life-threatening condition. The driver, a 31-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Police state that the incident is not terror-related and believe the suspect was involved in an altercation at a nightclub prior to the collision.
