Apple to Fix Screen Time Parental Control Bug Allowing Access to Blocked Websites in Next Update
Jun 5, 2024, 12:21 PM
Apple's Screen Time parental controls have been plagued by bugs, allowing children to access blocked websites. Despite the issue being reported by two security researchers in March and August 2021, Apple has only now committed to fixing the problem in its next software update. The bug, which lets users circumvent web browser content restrictions, was discovered in 2020. Apple has faced criticism for its delayed response and for treating the issue as an afterthought. The Wall Street Journal's Joanna Stern highlighted the problem, prompting Apple's commitment to a fix.
