VisitIDF Intercepts Two Houthi Ballistic Missiles From Yemen Targeting Central and Southern Israel
Jan 18, 2025, 08:48 AM
On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis in Yemen were successfully intercepted. The first missile triggered sirens across central Israel and Jerusalem, with the IDF intercepting it outside of Israeli airspace. The interception led to fears of falling debris, prompting the activation of alerts. The second missile was launched later in the day, targeting southern Israel, including the city of Eilat, and was also intercepted before entering Israeli territory. No injuries were reported from either incident. The launches come amidst ongoing regional tensions, with the Houthis in Yemen claiming responsibility for the attacks.
