U.S. Sanctions Nearly 400 Entities in 17 Countries, Including China and India, for Aiding Russia's War
Oct 30, 2024, 03:20 PM
The United States has imposed sanctions on nearly 400 entities and individuals across 17 countries, including Russia, China, India, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, and Thailand, for enabling Russia's illegal war against Ukraine. Announced by the U.S. Treasury and State Departments, the measures target 275 individuals and entities supplying Russia with advanced technology and equipment critical to its military-industrial complex. The Department of Commerce added 40 entities to its Entity List, including Russian research institutions supporting chemical and biological warfare programs. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the U.S. will continue to use all tools at its disposal to promote accountability for Russia's actions. The sanctions aim to disrupt sprawling sanctions evasion networks and hold Russia accountable for its continued aggression in Ukraine.
