Ukrainian Drones Strike Chechen Police Barracks in Grozny, Kadyrov Responds
Dec 12, 2024, 10:58 AM
Ukrainian drones targeted a police barracks in the southern Russian region of Chechnya overnight, marking the second attack on the site this month. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed that a drone was shot down over the building in Grozny, causing light injuries to four guards from the falling debris. The building, belonging to a police special forces unit named after Akhmat Kadyrov, Kadyrov's late father, was previously hit on December 4. Kadyrov, a loyal supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has sent thousands of Chechen troops to support Moscow's offensive in Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry reported downing 16 Ukrainian drones overnight, including one over Chechnya, three in North Ossetia, and eight over Crimea.
