Sudan's RSF Kills 100 Civilians in Wad al-Noura Attack with Heavy Artillery
Jun 6, 2024, 04:20 PM
In Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have killed at least 100 civilians in an attack on the village of Wad al-Noura, south of the capital Khartoum. The attack, which involved heavy artillery, has been condemned by humanitarian officials and the UN. The civil war in Sudan, which erupted last year, has resulted in as many as 150,000 deaths according to American estimates. The conflict has turned Khartoum into a battleground and has led to one of the world's worst humanitarian catastrophes, with famine looming and the potential for 10 million internally displaced people. The Wad Madani Resistance Committee reported the attack, which included a mass burial and the deaths of children.
