Milwaukee Recounts 30,000 Absentee Ballots After Tabulator Panels Left Open
Nov 5, 2024, 10:51 PM
Milwaukee election officials will recount approximately 30,000 to 40,000 absentee ballots after discovering that panels on some ballot tabulators were left open by accident. The ballots had already been counted, but as a precaution and to ensure accuracy, the city will reset all 13 affected machines and rerun the ballots. City spokesman Jeff Fleming stated that the recount aims to address the issue involving the ballot stickers and the glass doors on some of the machines. The recount is expected to delay the reporting of election results in Milwaukee.
