Armenia to Withdraw from Russian-Led CSTO, Says PM Pashinyan on Wednesday
Jun 12, 2024, 01:24 PM
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced on Wednesday that Armenia will withdraw from the Russian-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The timing for this withdrawal has not yet been determined, but it will occur when the authorities deem it necessary. Pashinyan cited the CSTO's lack of support in Armenia's conflict with Azerbaijan as a key reason for the decision. Armenia had previously suspended its participation in the CSTO in February and stopped financial contributions in May. Pashinyan made this statement in parliament.
