VisitAmazon Installs 17,000 EV Chargers, Becomes Largest U.S. Private Operator Despite Emission Rise
Apr 15, 2024, 10:01 AM
Amazon has rapidly expanded its electric vehicle infrastructure by installing 17,000 chargers at about 120 U.S. warehouses in just over two years. This makes Amazon the largest operator of private electrical vehicle charging infrastructure in the country. The chargers are used to power a fleet of 13,500 Rivian electric delivery trucks. Despite this significant investment in green technology, Amazon's reported emissions have increased by 39% since the company announced its goal of achieving 'net zero' emissions by 2040.
