President-elect Donald Trump has raised more than $170 million for his upcoming inauguration, setting a record for inaugural fundraising. The funds have come from a variety of sources, including major tech companies and wealthy donors. Hims & Hers Health, along with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Meta, Amazon, and Apple CEO Tim Cook, have each donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund. The extraordinary demand for tickets has led to the inaugural committee running out of VIP perks for some major donors, who have been placed on waitlists or informed that they may not receive VIP access due to capacity constraints. The funds raised are expected to approach $200 million by the end of the effort, with any surplus potentially being used for a future Trump presidential library.
