Recent excavations in a coal mine in Gujarat, India have unearthed fossils of a gigantic snake species, named Vasuki Indicus, believed to be one of the largest ever to have existed. These fossils suggest the snake lived approximately 47 million years ago. The snake's estimated length of up to 49 feet (15 meters) surpasses that of a T. rex, making it longer than a school bus and weighing about a ton. This discovery has been reported in Scientific Reports, highlighting its significance in the study of prehistoric life.
