Yu Darvish Achieves 200 Combined Wins in Padres' 9-0 Win Over Braves
May 20, 2024, 02:03 AM
Yu Darvish has become the third Japanese-born pitcher to achieve 200 combined wins in Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). This milestone places him alongside Hideo Nomo (203 wins) and Hiroki Kuroda (201 wins). Darvish, who pitches for the San Diego Padres, reached this achievement during a game against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday Night Baseball. In this game, he extended his scoreless innings streak to 25, the longest ever by a Japanese-born pitcher. Darvish's performance included 7 innings pitched, allowing 2 hits, no runs, 1 walk, and striking out 9 batters. His season ERA now stands at 2.08, and he has not allowed a run since April 14. The Padres won the game 9-0.
