The WNBA has set new viewing and attendance records to begin its 2024 season. The league, which just tipped off its 28th season on May 14th, concluded May with the highest-attended opening month in 26 years, attracting about 400,000 fans. More than 50% of the games were sellouts, marking a 156% increase from the previous year, with arenas filled to 94% capacity, up 17% from last year. The WNBA's viewership also saw significant growth, averaging 1.32 million viewers across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, ION, and NBA TV, nearly tripling last season's average of 462,000 viewers. Additionally, the WNBA online store set a record for the most single-season sales in history.
