WWE, Vince and Linda McMahon, TKO Sued Over Sexual Abuse Allegations by Former 'Ring Boys'
Oct 24, 2024, 01:11 PM
A lawsuit has been filed against World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, and TKO Group Holdings, Inc. on behalf of five former 'ring boys' who allege they were groomed and sexually abused by former WWE ring announcer Mel Phillips during the 1980s. The lawsuit, filed in Maryland court, claims that Vince and Linda McMahon, as well as WWE, had knowledge of the abuse and failed to take action. The suit, filed by law firms DiCello Levitt and Murphy, Falcon & Murphy, seeks to hold WWE and its leaders accountable for enabling the rampant abuse. The suit also alleges that Phillips was given unfettered access to the boys, including private locker rooms. Greg Gutzler, an attorney representing the plaintiffs, stated that the courage of the victims has provided an opportunity to hold WWE accountable. Vince McMahon's attorney has responded to the allegations, calling them 'absurd, defamatory, and utterly meritless.'
