Sep 29, 2024, 04:07 PM
The U.S. Department of Justice has indicted William Robert Braddock III, 41, a former congressional candidate from St. Petersburg, Florida, for threatening to kill his political opponent, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, and another person during the 2022 Republican primary race for Florida's 13th Congressional District. Braddock allegedly threatened on June 8, 2021, to use a "Russian-Ukrainian hit squad" to make Luna "disappear." He fled to the Philippines but was recently deported and is now in U.S. custody. The indictment was revealed on Friday, charging Braddock with making the alleged threats against Luna and an acquaintance.
