The U.S. economy added 143,000 private sector jobs in September, according to the ADP report, surpassing the forecast of 125,000 and marking the highest monthly total since June. This follows an upward revision for August, which added 103,000 jobs. Job gains were widespread, with notable increases in leisure and hospitality (34,000), construction (26,000), and education and health services (24,000). The ADP report also noted a median annual pay increase of 4.7% for job-stayers, slightly down from 4.8% previously. The actual figure of 143,000 exceeded the initial forecast of 120,000 and the previous value of 99,000, representing the biggest gain in three months.
