US New Home Sales Reach 716,000 Units in August, Beating Estimates

The US new home sales for August reached an annualized rate of 716,000 units, surpassing the estimated 700,000 units. This figure, however, represents a decrease from the previous month's sales of 751,000 units. The August reading was initially expected to show a 5.3% month-on-month decline. The sales were also compared to an estimate of 699,000 units and a prior figure of 739,000 units.
