Tesla Inc. utilized data from its charging stations and license plate readers to assist law enforcement in tracking the movements of a Cybertruck that exploded in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The explosion, which occurred on New Year's Day, resulted in the death of the driver, Matthew Livelsberger, and injuries to seven others. The vehicle, rented by Livelsberger, was found to be carrying fireworks and explosive materials. Tesla CEO Elon Musk provided crucial video footage from charging stations across the country, which helped authorities piece together the route taken by Livelsberger over five days and four states, from Denver to Las Vegas, with stops in Monument, Colorado, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Flagstaff, Arizona.
