North Korea Reportedly Sending 3,000 Soldiers to Aid Russia in Ukraine
Oct 15, 2024, 10:17 AM
Ukraine and the United States have reported that North Korea is supplying missiles and shells to Russia, signaling deeper cooperation between the two nations. Ukrainian partisans have noted the presence of North Korean mercenaries near Mariupol, engaged in artillery training and ammunition distribution. Ukrainian intelligence suggests that North Korea is sending several thousand troops to fight in Ukraine, with estimates ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 soldiers. The President of Ukraine stated that North Korea is joining the war against Ukraine. The Russian army is reportedly forming a 'Special Buryat Battalion,' consisting of up to 3,000 North Korean personnel, within the 11th Separate Airborne Brigade. This unit is expected to be deployed near Sudzha and Kursk. North Korea is responsible for half of Russian artillery shells and missiles fired.
