Ukraine has received a $3.9 billion non-repayable grant from the United States through the World Bank project. The funds will be used to pay salaries for teachers, medical staff, emergency responders, and other government employees, as well as to support social assistance and priority budget expenses. This grant is part of the first tranche of direct budget support from the U.S. in 2024. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed the receipt of the grant and highlighted its importance for Ukraine's essential budget needs. In total, Ukraine will receive $7.8 billion in direct budget aid from the U.S. this year.
