Explosions and Fire at Russian-Controlled Saky Airfield in Crimea After ATACMS Strike, Extensive Damage Reported
Jul 26, 2024, 04:53 AM
Explosions and a significant fire were reported at the Russian-controlled Saky Airfield near Novofedorivka in occupied Crimea last night. Local residents and multiple sources, including Crimean Wind and Telegram channels, confirmed the incident, which is believed to have been caused by a Ukrainian strike using ATACMS missiles. Preliminary reports indicate that an ammunition warehouse was struck, resulting in a series of powerful explosions. Fire trucks were seen responding to the area, and air defense missiles were observed in the sky. Russian sources claim that two out of four ATACMS missiles were shot down. Extensive damage, including the destruction of a radar station and munitions storage, has been reported. The airfield is located in southern Ukraine.
