Turkey's Exports Reach $262 Billion in 2024, Aims for $390 Billion in 2025: Erdogan
Jan 3, 2025, 12:07 PM
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul during the 2024 Export Figures Announcement Program that Turkey's exports reached a historic high of $262 billion in 2024, marking a 2.5% increase from the previous year. He highlighted the achievement despite regional uncertainties and global economic challenges. Erdogan also set a target for 2025, aiming for a 4% growth rate supported by net exports and fixed capital investments. Additionally, he projected that Turkey's per capita income, which was $13,243 in 2023, would exceed $15,000 in 2024 and surpass $17,000 in 2025. The president noted that Turkey achieved a record-breaking monthly export figure of $23 billion in December 2024, up by 2.2% from the previous year. High-technology product exports saw a 19% increase, reaching $8.8 billion in 2024. The top five exporting provinces were identified as Istanbul, Kocaeli, Izmir, Bursa, and Tekirdag. Erdogan expressed confidence in surpassing $390 billion in total goods and services exports in 2025.
