Turkey to Supply Electricity to Syria and Lebanon, Aims to Address Severe Power Shortages

Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that a delegation from the ministry has arrived in Damascus to assess Syria's energy infrastructure and needs following the fall of Bashar al-Assad. The minister stated that Turkey is prepared to supply electricity to both Syria and Lebanon, emphasizing the urgency of addressing severe power shortages in Syria. Bayraktar highlighted that the initial step would involve exporting electricity from Turkey, with plans to evaluate the transmission grid and discuss potential cooperation in energy projects, including oil and natural gas. The minister also mentioned Turkey's readiness to work with Syria's new leadership on infrastructure and energy projects, aiming to utilize Syrian resources for the country's reconstruction.
