Ex-Democrat Tulsi Gabbard Joins GOP on Stage with Trump at North Carolina Rally
Oct 23, 2024, 01:06 AM
Former Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard announced she is joining the Republican Party during a rally with former President Donald Trump in Greensboro, North Carolina, on October 23, 2024. Standing on stage with Trump, Gabbard stated, "I'm proud to stand here with you and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party." She cited her "love for our country" and praised Trump's leadership in "transforming the Republican Party back into the party of the people and the party of peace." Gabbard described the GOP as "the party of common sense," "the party of equality," and "the party founded to fight against and end slavery." She criticized the Democratic Party as an "elitist cabal of warmongers" and said it offers no home for "independent-minded people who love our country and are committed to the Constitution and freedom." Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party to become an independent two years ago, now serves as a co-chair for the Trump campaign.
