Trump Gains 14-Point Lead in Pennsylvania; Betting Odds Favor Him in Swing States
Oct 6, 2024, 06:02 PM
Former President Donald Trump has gained a significant lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in betting odds for the 2024 US Presidential Election, according to Polymarket data. With 31 days remaining until the election, Trump's national odds stand at 50.1%, leading Harris by a slim margin of 1.1%. In contrast, an NBC poll indicates Harris leads Trump nationally by 3 points, 49% to 46%. In Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state, Trump's odds have surged to a 14-point lead of 56% to Harris's 44% following a rally in Butler, PA. Prior to the rally, Trump held a 6-point lead in the state, which grew to 8 points and then to 14 points post-rally. Trump also commands substantial leads in other key swing states: Arizona and Georgia both show Trump at 63% to Harris's 37%. This shift represents a remarkable change in online betting trends, with Harris in danger of losing traditionally Democratic-leaning states such as Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan—a situation some are calling her 'Katrina moment.'
