President-elect Donald Trump announced that he plans to attend the state funeral of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 100. The funeral is scheduled for January 9th at the Washington National Cathedral. Despite having criticized Carter during his lifetime, Trump confirmed his attendance by saying, "I do. I'll be there. We were invited." When asked if he had spoken to any members of the Carter family, Trump declined to comment, stating, "I'd rather not say." Other living presidents are also expected to attend.
