Heisman Finalist Travis Hunter Makes History with Walter Camp, Bednarik, and Biletnikoff Wins
Dec 13, 2024, 02:11 AM
Colorado's Travis Hunter has made history in college football by winning multiple prestigious awards for his exceptional two-way performance as a wide receiver and cornerback. Hunter was named the 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year, Associated Press College Football Player of the Year, and won the Chuck Bednarik Award for the nation's best defensive player and the Biletnikoff Award for the top receiver. He is the first player in college football history to win both the Bednarik and Biletnikoff awards. Additionally, he secured his second consecutive Paul Hornung Award for versatility, the Lott Impact Trophy, and was named the AP Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Hunter finished the 2024 season with 92 receptions for 1,152 yards, 14 touchdowns, and seven 100-yard games on offense, and four interceptions with 11 pass breakups on defense. He is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded on Saturday, and could become the second Colorado player to win the award after Rashaan Salaam in 1994.
